Artist Statement

I am an Intuitive Abstract Artist from Sydney, Australia.

My return to painting came about from a need to rediscover myself. I had been buried in the juggle of a life with many parts and was longing to slow, centre, remember, find and express my voice.

My work is about returning to self, expressing my story and past. My paintings are grounded in the emotion of lived experience and the losses and sweet spots of life. Implicit in this is acknowledgment and celebration for the constancy of women’s strength.

Painting gives me the space to feel, release, and return to myself. I create abstracted landscapes that reflect both inner and outer experience…. less about a specific place, and more about how it feels to be within it or to remember it. A story lives within the landscape.

Working in layered acrylic and oil, pencil and collage, I build and rework each piece over time using a range of tools and textures. The process is physical and intuitive, and I often find myself moving with the work, humming or singing as it evolves. That rhythm and presence become part of the painting itself. It is very emotive experience.

Each piece sits between familiarity and abstraction, allowing space for personal interpretation. I want the work to feel accessible, while also offering something slightly otherworldly, a sense of story that is both known and undefined.

At its core, my work is an invitation: a doorway into something imaginative, emotional, and restorative and a place to pause and reflect. I hope that you too can find yourself in my art.
